Which Chase do you draft?
You are Carl Peterson. It is the seventh round of the 2009 NFL draft and you are ready to take a QB out of Missouri. Do you draft Chase Daniel or Chase Patton? Patton projects as the better NFL QB, but Daniel could be the next Doug Flutie. ESPN the magazine has an interesting take on this:

I'm going to play Devil's advocate. Daniel has done a lot for Mizzou. He has turned our football team into a winner. But, his backup has the build and can make all the throws. We have seen QBs come out of nowhere (Warner, Romo, etc.), but Patton isn't coming out of nowhere he's on a top-15 team, backing up a former-Heisman finalist and was one of the elite 11 QBs out of HS. Daniel grew up in this system he was the logical choice, but Patton is going to be the big boy in the NFL.....he'll be throwing plenty of passes to the Chiefs #1 pick....Chase Coffman!
Actually, I agree. Daniel is a known quantity. Patton is an unkown and has a huge upside. I'd gamble and take Patton over Daniel. At the risk of blasphemy, I'd take Sam Bradford over both.
