Tyler "Pigpen" Thigpen
Whitlock is already starting to doubt Pigpen. Personally, I think he has played well enough so far that he deserves a shot at the starting job next year---assuming of course that his level of play remains consistent for the remainder of the season.
Agreed. Pigpen has played well given the circumstances. We should still draft a QB early on to give him some competition, because I doubt Croyle will.
Here's where my bias kills me....we should draft Chase Patton. He's tall, strong and will be the next Tony Romo/Kurt Warner surprise. However, unlike Romo and Warner Patton will have come from Missouri instead of NO WHERE like the other two.
I don't think we should draft a QB to "early on." We have a world of needs that have to be filled through the draft, and this year's QB class is pretty weak. I think we should try to fill other needs this year, and give Thigpen (and possibily Croyle) an opportunity to take the job next year. If that doesn't work, then hopefully we draft a QB of the future in the 2010 draft. That QB class is looking pretty strong (Bradford, McCoy, Tebow, etc...etc..)

Bobby,

PS: If Chase Patton is available on day 2, I wouldn't mind taking him as a late round pick.
Whitlock as a new article where he continues to doubt Pigpen.
